The Full Story of
Fluidity Counseling
The idea behind Fluidity Counseling was created when the owner, Dr. Kirsten Loveridge was working with adolescents. She saw many young adolescents and teens who had trauma, specifically sexual trauma, who were now struggling to form healthy relationships with loved ones. Dr. Loveridge encountered many young adults who entered into unhealthy or toxic relationships due to their lack of knowledge and understanding of healthy, intimate relationships. Communication surrounding consent, affection, and emotional and sexual intimacy was often avoided due to the taboo nature of the sex. Resources were limited on how to best support these individuals.
Dr. Loveridge found herself limited to offering support to these teens due to a variety of factors. She recognized these teens grew into adults with many of these same concerns and hurts. Kirsten changed her demographics to be able to offer support to adults who were struggling with sexual and emotional intimacy and trauma. From there, Fluidity Counseling was opened. Fluidity Counseling hopes to normalize and celebrate each person for where they are on their sexual journey.
We recognize that for many people, sex therapy is just one aspect of their needs. Fluidity Counseling offers a holistic approach which focuses on one's emotional, physical, psychological, spiritual, sexual needs, and more. We hope to meet each individual and relationship where they are whether that is solely sex therapy or what is more common, therapy that encompasses all aspects of the people involved.
